One of the best ways to deal with stress and other strong emotions is the most natural things we have at our disposal, breathing better.

You can improve the way you breathe so easily and it will make an amazing difference in the way you feel and look.

Most people do not breathe to their full potential.

Many studies have shown that proper breathing techniques can relieve stress, yet many of us continue to go for a pill to relieve stress or we do something that is even worse. We try to live with the stress.

The Life Lift breathing technique can help you manage strong emotions, such as fear, pain anger, and stress. Once you have learned how to harness the power of the Life Lift breathing technique you will have a built-in stress reducer at your disposal any time and any place you may need it.

But even changing your normal breathing patterns can make a difference in how you live your life.

How do you know if you're breathing properly?
Because breathing is something most of us do without thinking much about it, we often do not realize the quality of each breath we take. You may not even be aware that you could improve your normal every day breathing habits. Make an effort to pay attention to your breathing and you could completely change the way you feel, the way you look and the way you age.

You may notice that when you're stressed, angry or afraid that you tend to hold your breath, have shallow breaths or you may even feel short of breath. Many people actually hold their breath without utilizing the deep exhale to clear out the stale air, like we do with Life Lift. We can all benefit from paying more attention to our breathing and learning some new techniques to keep our breathing and full as complete as possible

Breathing techniques have been used to achieve better health and well-being for centuries. I still can't believe it when someone says to me "How can breathing help you lose weight, or how can you change the way you feel by changing the way you breathe?"

The concept of better breathing leading to a healthier and happier body is as old as time. It is only in the past 30 years since I began developing the Life Lift way of breathing that I fully understood how powerful that message really is.

I feel that breathing the "Life Lift Way" has changed every aspect of my life.

I know I look better, feel better, feel stronger and I am aging in a different way than I would without Life Lift. I am completely convinced of this for several reasons.

I will be 60 on this next birthday and yet I do not suffer from so many of the problems many others my age suffer from. I have never had harsh menopausal symptoms. My skin and hair have not gone down hill. They actually seem to be improving as the years come to me. I don't have all the aches and pains that so many report having after they reach 40.

What does this mean to you? Plenty!

Why is the way you breathe so important? Because breathing is how we introduce oxygen into our circulatory and respiratory systems. It may seem like an obvious process, but many people don't get a full load of oxygen when they breathe, which can lead to heightened fatigue and anxiety.

Oxygen also plays an important role in other bodily functions, including digestion. This is one of the reasons why people who use the Reflexology video combining Life Lift with pressing on the target reflexology point, draws the oxygen to the area of our body that aids digestion. The more oxygen your body is taking in, the better it is for you and the best way to get more oxygen is to breathe more slowly and much deeper.

How To Survive A Heart Attack

Many people are alone, or not near immediate help, when a heart attack begins.

Pain in your chest that radiates out into your arm and up into your jaw may indicate that a heart attack is beginning.

At the onset of these symptoms, or if your heart is not beating normally and you begin to feel faint, you have about 10 seconds left before losing consciousness.

Here is an effective way to perform CPR on yourself..and save your life:

How to do CPR on your self:

COUGH repeatedly...very deeply & vigorously

Take a deep breath before each cough.

The cough itself must be deep and prolonged, as when producing sputum from deep inside the chest.

Repeat cough about every few seconds without letting up until help arrives, or until the heart is felt to be beating normally again

Deep breaths get oxygen into the lungs and coughing movements squeeze the heart and keep the blood circulating. The squeezing pressure on the heart also helps it regain normal rhythm. In this way, heart attack victims can get to a hospital. Tell as many other people as possible about this, it could save their lives!

Favorite foods

In this and future newsletters I will highlight some of the health benefits from whole, natural foods as well as some of the healthy herbs we have available to us.

Medicinal Benefits of Whole Foods

It would be good for us not to forget how important and beneficial natural whole foods and herbs can be.

It is important that we remember the well-documented, non-toxic and inexpensive healing properties of whole foods.

My pick for this newsletter is one of my favorite foods. Eat a yam or sweet potato and improve your health.

The benefits of adding yams to your daily eating plan.

Since I was a little girl yams or sweet potatoes have been included in my favorite food list. My Mom had all kinds of ways to cook them and each one was a yummy, fill your tummy and leave you feeling like you had a treat. Delicious! When I eat a yam I always feel like I have had something special.

It made me very happy to find out that the benefits are more than just good taste.

Sweet Potato or Yams.
A source of the antioxidant beta carotene which has been linked to the prevention of heart disease, cataracts strokes and numerous cancers. One half cup of mashed sweet potatoes or Yams contains about 23,000 international units of beta carotene, according to Department of Agriculture figures.

Coconut

Once again I will remind you that it has been proved that nuts in general provide more than twice the energy furnished by meat and fish. They are also richer in proteins.

Nuts are best used in their natural raw state. Raw nuts are among the foods highest in fat. But the fat of nuts is completely natural and unprocessed which is best for the body. It is especially rich in linoleic acid and is least damaging to the heart and arteries.

Nuts often produce oil half their weight. The high energy value of nuts is mainly due to their oil content. Nut oil is used for cooking all over the world. Pure oils from nuts are often used in medicine

The Harvard Heart Letter published by Harvard Medical School, noted various health benefits of nuts.

Nuts have a unique nutrient composition that could favorably affect heart disease risk factors and interfere with the development of plaque in the arteries. The fats in the nuts can lower cholesterol and improve the ratio between ldl and hdl Cholesterol. By lowering your cholesterol you will lower your risk of having heart disease.

Nuts are easy for your body to digest, high in enzymes so they are good to eat any time of the day.

This newsletter our pick for nuts is Coconut.

Besides all of the health benefits coconut is one of the yummiest things I can think of to eat. I love coconut milk, coconut juice and coconut oil to cook with. Many people believe cooking with coconut oil can help improve thyroid function Many of our Life Lifter's have given us very good reports on their personal experience with this. There are some who disagree, but my personal experience has been positive so this is my pick for this newsletter.

Coconuts are rich in potassium and selenium.

Coconut milk compares to Mother's milk in it's chemical balance.

Coconuts are a good substitute for milk, eggs and cheese.

Coconuts are well tolerated by diabetics.

Coconuts can play a positive and important part in the metabolic process of polyunsaturated fatty acids.

Coconuts can help prevent the development of free radicals.

Only a week of using the body wrap products, I've lost 2 inches in my lower abs. I stopped using them for a week because I was having some work on my problem foot. A week later, the inches are still GONE!!!! I was so afraid this change wouldn't be permanent. How exciting to lose inches in this hard to lose area! My abs are my most challenging area!
